Legal Services
Following the completion of my LLB (UNISA) degree in 2020, I promptly embarked on acquiring substantive experience as legal counsel within the creative arts sector, as well as the hospitality sector.
This led me to assume the role of legal counsel on the board of the South African Strings Foundation and The Flat Mountain Project. Additionally, I also serve as a director of The Aleit Academy, which specialises in event management and hospitality education, as well as providing legal counsel for The Aleit Group.
Legal Philosophy
The relationship between the creative arts and law can be complex and multifaceted. Therefore, unsurprisingly, individuals pursuing endeavours and careers within this field, frequently encounter challenges navigating legal matters, thereby experiencing uncertainty and disarray.
My legal expertise encompasses a comprehensive array of services, including:
- Legal counsel in the creative arts sector, encompassing matters pertaining to copyright, commissioned works, royalties, performing rights, mechanical rights, and related areas.
- Legal advisory services tailored to the hospitality sector, covering contract negotiations, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), general conflict resolution, and other pertinent issues.
- Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and providing legal counsel on contracts, as well as drafting Founding Documents for Non-Profit Organisations and/or Memorandum of Incorporation for companies (Pty (Ltd)) within the creative arts sector and hospitality sector.
By offering specialised legal support across these domains, I aim to empower individuals and organisations by facilitating clarity and compliance in legal obligations and opportunities.
